The annual Neurology Update Meeting of the Irish Institute of Clinical Neuroscience will this year take place in the South Court Hotel, Limerick, on Friday October 14th, 2005. The aim of this meeting is to provide up-to-date information on a range of neurological conditions, with emphasis on the latest treatments. The meeting is aimed at senior clinicians who manage neurological diseases as part of their daily practice. The content will also be appropriate for trainees in neurology, neurosurgery, general medicine, care of the elderly and other disciplines.

The Institute is pleased to welcome eminent guest speakers, each of whom is acknowledged as expert in their specialist area. Topics discussed will include Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, Contemporary issues in Paediatric Neurology, Causes of Dizziness and Stroke. The format of the meeting is designed to facilitate discussion, with a full session dedicated to clinical case presentation.

The Guest Speaker will be  Mr. Stephen Gill, Consultant Neurosurgeon, Frenchay Hospital, Bristol who will speak on 'Surgical Treatment of Parkinsons’s Disease'
