9th Annual Neurology Update Meeting

 

Dr. Norman Delanty will direct the 2010 Neurology Update Meeting, which will take place on Friday, October 8th at the Guinness Storehouse, Dublin.

 Theme:  "The Immune System and Neurological Disorders"

 

Guest Speaker

The Institute is honoured to welcome Professor Josep Dalmau who will deliver a lecture entitled "Paraneoplastic and non-paraneoplastic Immune-mediated Encephalitis". Dr. Dalmau is Professor of Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania. His research is funded by the National Institutes of Health, and he has received grants and awards from the Charles A. Dana Foundation, the McKnight Foundation, and the American Cancer Society. Dr. Dalmau’s research is focused on autoimmune and paraneoplastic neurological disorders. His recent work has revealed a new category of disorders mediated by antibodies to neuronal cell surface and CNS synaptic proteins.

BY FOOT
From Dame Street (outside Trinity College), keep straight ahead. Follow the road around, passing Christchurch on the right and leading onto Thomas Street. At Crane Street turn left, and at the end of the road turn right onto Market Street.
Guinness Storehouse is on the right. Journey time 20 mins.

By Bus
Bus 51B from Aston Quay runs every 15 mins. Journey time 10 mins.
Bus 78A from Aston Quay runs every 8-10 mins. Journey time 10 mins.
Bus 123 from O'Connell Street runs every 8-10 mins. Journey time 10 mins.
Bus 123 from Dame Street runs every 8-10 mins. Journey time 10 mins.

By Car from the City Centre
From Dame Street (outside Trinity College), keep straight ahead. Follow the road around passing Christchurch on the right, leading onto Thomas Street. Drive past the main St James's Gate Brewery Gates, which will be on your left. At the junction of James's Street and Echlin Street take a left turn. At the top of the road turn left (opposite the Old Harbour Pub). Take the first left on to Market Street. The pedestrian entrance to GUINNESS STOREHOUSE® will be on the left.
To reach the car park, take the next left onto Crane Street and the car park is immediately on the right. Journey time 5 mins.

By Tram
The Tram / Luas stop is on James's Street. Once on James's Street turn right and continue walking down James's Street. At the junction with Echlin Street take a right turn. At the top of the road turn left (opposite Old Harbour Pub). Take the first left on to Market Street. The pedestrian entrance will be on the left.
