Dr. Ronan Kilbride will direct the 2016 Neurology Update Meeting at the RDS, Dublin


  The 2016 Neurology Update Meeting will be directed by Dr. Ronan Kilbride and will take place on October 14th in the Merrion Room, Royal Dublin Society, Dublin 4. The aim of this one day meeting is to provide up-to-date information on neurological conditions, with emphasis on the latest treatments.

'On Friday October 14th at the RDS, Ballsbridge, Dublin, the IICN will host the 15th Annual Neurology Update Meeting. The theme for this year's meeting is 'Hot Topics in Neurology'. The Meeting will include sessions providing current information in the fields of Neuroscience, Cerebrovascular Disease, Neuroradiology and this year we are delighted to host the John Kirker Memorial Lecture for Epilepsy. In addition, the afternoon session will be dedicated to Brain Injury in Sport addressing issues related to acute sporting related head trauma and current understanding of its long term sequelae.
The meeting is targeted towards senior clinicians who manage neurological disease as part of their daily practice. The content will be appropriate for neurologists, neurosurgeons, general physicians, medicine for the elderly physicians, general practitioners, related disciplines, and for trainees in all of the above areas.
The Institute is pleased to welcome eminent speakers, each of whom is acknowledged as expert in their specialist area. The format of the meeting is designed to facilitate questions and discussion with delegates to the meeting'

Dr. Sydney Cash, Associate Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School and attending epileptologist at Massachusetts General Hospital will deliver the JOHN KIRKER MEMORIAL LECTURE 2016. The lecture title will be “New Perspectives on Seizures incorporating networks, single neurons and both slow and fast activity". Venue and Directions

Please click the link to follow for directions to the RDS How to Get to the RDS
Enter the RDS from the Merrion Road entrance. Access to the Merrion room is through the Members' entrance, to the right of the Main Hall.
Public Transport
The Merrion road entranct to the RDS is serviced by bus routes numbers: 27X, 4, 45, 4A, 5, 7, 7A, 8, 18
The closest DART (local Dublin Rail) station (approx. 5 minute walk) to the RDS is Sandymount.
From the Sandymount Dart Station: Follow the Exit signs and turn right onto Sandymount Avenue. Continue until you reach the traffic lights (Bewley’s Hotel and the Four Seasons Hotel will be directly in front of you). Turn right onto Merrion Road and the RDS Main Complex is situated on the left hand side (Merrion Road).
Car Parking
Car parking is available for delegates at the RDS at a charge of €6 per day. The car park is open from 07.30 – 18.00
