
Dr. John Lynch will direct the 10th annual Neurology Update Meeting in the Galway Bay Hotel on Friday, October 14th 2011.
Lecturers
The Institute is pleased to welcome eminent speakers, each of whom is acknowledged as expert in their specialist area. The format of the meeting is designed to facilitate questions and discussion with delegates to the meeting.

Martin O’Donnell is Professor of Translational Medicine and Associate Director of Clinical Research Facility at NUI Galway. His research focus includes clinical trials in Vascular medicine and epidemiology of stroke and vascular ageing. He is Principal Investigator of an international case-control study of risk factors for stroke (INTERSTROKE).

Daniel Costello is a Consultant Neurologist at Cork University Hospital. He has completed clinical fellowships in Epilepsy & Neurophysiology and General Neurology at the Massachusetts General Hospital before becoming a faculty member in the same institution and Harvard Medical School. He returned to Ireland in 2009. His research interests include Epilepsy surgery, non-lesional Epilepsy and Status Epilepticus.

David Burn is Professor of Movement Disorder Neurology at the Clinical Ageing Research Unit, Newcastle University, Campus for Ageing and Vitality, Newcastle. Professor Burn’s primary aims are to improve our knowledge of the evolution of cognitive impairment in non-demented PD patients and also the pathophysiological basis for this devastating complication.

Lionel Ginsberg is Consultant Neurologist and Clinical Director, Neurosciences, Royal Free Hospital, London.

Raymond Murphy is Consultant Neurologist at the Adelaide and Meath Hospital, incorporating the National Children's Hospital. Dr. Murphy has been National Specialty Director of the specialist registrar in neurology training scheme for many years.
