Neurology Update Meeting 2019

The 18th Annual Neurology Update Meeting will be directed by Dr. Raeburn Forbes and will take place on Friday, October 18th, 2019 in the Hilton Hotel, Lanyon Place, Belfast. This meeting is intended to provide information and insights into new diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions for clinicians. Consultant physicians, general practitioners, specialist nurses and allied health professionals, in addition to neurologists and doctors in all areas of training are invited to attend.
This meeting is a designated Neurology Specialist Registrar Training Day.

Guest Lecture

Prof. Sarosh R Irani will deliver the 2019 Guest Lecture at the Neurology Update Meeting.
Prof. R Irani BMBCh MA (Oxon) DPhil FRCP FEAN  is head of the Oxford Autoimmune Neurology Group, and Co-director, Oxford Autoimmune Neurology Group, Diagnostic laboratory.
He is a consultant neurologist and clinician-scientist with clinical and laboratory experiences in the field of autoantibody-mediated diseases of the nervous system, in particular the central nervous system. He runs a dedicated clinic for the care of these patients, and run a research group of 20 clinicians and scientists to learn more about the origins and treatments of these diseases.
The title of Prof. Irani's lecture at the Neurology Update Meeting will  be ‘Autoimmune Encephalitis’

CPD

Accreditation for 6 category 1 (external) CPD credits has been approved by the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom. Delegates must sign the CPD attendance sheet on arrival at the meeting. Certificates will be issued by email to delegates in the week following the meeting.

The registration fee for the meeting is €50 or £45 Sterling.

 Venue and Directions

The meeting will be held in the Lagan Suite at the Hilton Belfast Hotel, 4 Lanyon Place, Belfast. The hotel is easily accessible and is ideally located next to the Waterfront Hall by the river Lagan. It is just a few minutes’ walk from Belfast Central train station and 10 minutes’ drive from George Best Belfast City Airport.
Directions and car parking
Full day car parking is available in the APCOA Car Park adjacent to the Hilton Hotel at a special rate of £12 for conference delegates. Note that delegates should present their parking ticket to the front desk at the Hilton hotel to be vaildated following the meeting, in order to avail of the discounted day parking rate.  Accommodation

Rooms have been provisionally reserved for conference delegates on Thursday and Friday, October 17th and 18th at agreed rates at the Hilton Hotel. Delegates may reserve rooms at the hotel at the rates below until Tuesday, September 1st . Thereafter rooms bookings will be subject to the normal commercial rates prevailing at the time
